Facebook Pixel – How Do I Add It to My Website?

If you do not host the website yourself, you should contact the author of the website at this time. A Facebook pixel can be added to a website directly in a so-called source code or through a separate plug-in in the WP publishing system. Online stores usually have their own section in the settings where the Facebook pixel ID is added. If Google Tag Manager has been added to your website, you can also add a Facebook pixel to your website through it. If all of the above sounds confusing, often a website developer or digital marketing expert can help with this.

You need to send the Facebook pixel information to the website administrator. Here’s how to find the Facebook pixel tracking code in your ad account. Don’t worry, you don’t have to know how to code anything 🙂

Log in to Facebook and go to your own advertising account. I, a local SEO agency expert, have Facebook Business Manager running, but you can use the pixel without this. The most important thing. that you already have an advertising account to run your business. That is, open the menu in the upper left corner (either Business Manager or Ad Manager). If the full menu does not open, click on “All Tools”. This opens the entire menu, from which you can select “Pixels”.

If no pixels have been created for the ad account, this page will look “blank”. If your ad account already has a pixel and is set up to track your website, you should see information about what’s happening on your website here. If you have access to more than one ad account, make sure you’re creating pixels in the correct ad account.

You can create a pixel from the button on the left edge. Enter a name for your pixel / X pixels for your business or X pixels for your advertising account and fill in the website address if you wish. Click “confirm”.

As explained by a reputed digital marketing agency, there are 3 different options in the next section: install a Facebook pixel in an online store or website, for example, using your own plug-in, or add the code yourself directly to the website or through Google Tag Manager. The last option allows you to email the pixel information to the person who will eventually install it on the website.

Once a Facebook pixel has been added to a site, you can check its functionality here from the same place where the pixel was originally created. Note! if you’ve only added the base code, follow it with page visits. If you have an online store, the online store may automatically add standard functionality, such as viewing a product, searching, adding to a shopping cart, completing an order.

Similarly, the functionality of pages that do not have an online store can be tracked through events (sending a form, subscribing to a newsletter, submitting an application, contacting us). You can set these up to take advantage of custom conversions (site traffic) or, if necessary, add conversion tracking to your base code, such as Google Tag Manager.
