Back in 2018, Apple surpassed 100 million active users. There’s no doubt that Macs are becoming more and more popular, which means you might have a MacBook of your own.
While you might’ve become familiar with your laptop, there’s probably plenty of shortcuts you don’t know about. And it’s worth taking the time to learn them, as they can cut down on inefficiency and boost your productivity.

Sign Documents
Did you know you could sign documents straight from your MacBook? This eliminates the need to print them out, sign them with a pen, then scan them back into your computer.
You’ll need to first open the document in Preview. Select the pencil icon up top and then the signature icon. For the very first signature, you can use your finger to draw it, but for following signatures, you can save the initial one and just insert it wherever you like!

Get an Extra Display With Your iPad
If you’ve got an iPad, here’s a nifty trick that’ll make good use of your tablet while you’re on your laptop. You can turn it into an extra display by using Apple Sidecar.
The best thing about this is you won’t need to bother with unruly wires and connections. Apple Sidecar works with a wireless connection, so all you have to do is go to the Control Center, select Display, and then choose your iPad.
From here, you have a few choices. You can either mirror your MacBook on the iPad or make it an extended display.

Ditch Google Docs
One of the biggest selling points of Google Docs is you can work in documents online and collaborate with others.
You might be thinking, “yes, Macs have Pages, Numbers, and Keynote already installed, but I can’t collaborate with these apps.” Well, you’d be wrong!
If you want to share and work on a document with others, just find the Collaborate button and fill out the information to invite others to work on the project. This essentially gives you the same functions as Google Docs!

Get a Duplicate Files Finder
Are you running out of space on your MacBook? Then you’ll want to get rid of files that are either unwanted or duplicates. But going through these files manually can be time-consuming and tedious.
This is why getting a duplicate files finder (like this one here) can be a huge godsend. It uses an algorithm to detect slightly different file versions and can even tell you which one’s the better one. You’ll save hours with this program!
